Joining Yellow Stonehouse Farm
Becoming a CSA member of YSF enables local community members to “share in the harvest” by enrolling as a member before the harvest and paying an up-front fee that covers annual expenses such as seed, plants, compost, fences, high tunnels, and trellises. In return, members enjoy a share of fresh locally grown organic produce and additional Pick-Your-Own (PYO) vegetables, flowers and herbs that are available. Yellow Stonehouse Farm shareholders become partners with the farmer in growing food for the community.
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE: At Yellow Stonehouse Farm we are committed to growing food in ways that care for and protect the total ecosystem: its flora and fauna, cropland, hedgerows, woods, rivers, and streams. We care for all aspects of the farm and the species, some endangered, that live on it. Through balanced crop rotations, strict composting and cover cropping, we can preserve and protect important land for future generations. We do not spray chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides, and use sustainable organic practices as required for Organic Certification by the United States Department of Agriculture.
